I am Unable to Connect to My PC When Selecting From the Computer List

If you are unable to connect to your PC when selecting it from the Computer List, either getting stuck at the ‘Connecting…’ page, or receiving an error message similar to “This Site Can’t be Reached”, read the steps below to find out what the cause could be and how to resolve this issue.

Computer Restart

The first step to resolve this issue would be to restart the work PC you are trying to connect to; this will require someone at the physical PC to restart it.  

 

In order for the issue to be resolved you must restart the PC by clicking ‘Start’ > ‘Restart’. 

 

 When the PC has successfully restarted, please try logging in again and this should have resolved the issue; this resolves this issue 98% of the time. 

Firewell or Proxy

If a restart doesn’t resolve the issue, it may be caused a firewall or proxy on the surgery network

Due to the nature of the use of Away From My Desk, we can sometimes encounter issues where the NHS network or PC is blocking your remote session. 

This can usually be resolved by contacting your IT Helpdesk and asking them to check that LogMeIn is not blocked by the firewall or proxy.
