Sounds and Dictations Through Away From My Desk
A lot of our customers need to listen to dictations through their remote session. It is possible to listen to sound that is playing on the work PC, through the remote session on our PLUS upgrade at just £12 +VAT per PC, per year.

Can I Record Sound Through Away From My Desk?
Unfortunately, you will not be able to record sound via the remote session. This is because if you plug a microphone into your PC at home, it will connect to the home PC not your work PC.
I Have Upgraded But My Sound Isn’t Working
If you have upgraded to our PLUS software but are unable to hear sound, there could be a really simple explanation. Please try the follow steps if you are experiencing this issue.
- Please check that the volume on your home PC is turned up.
- Please check that the volume on your work PC is turned up.
- Please check that the volume on the session is turned up and the sound is not muted. If the speaker icon is grey, the sound is muted; simply click the icon to turn the sound on.
Once you have ensured all of the sound settings are turned up, if you are still having issues then please contact our technical support team.
Can I Use My Foot Pedal Through Away From My Desk?
A lot of our users listen back to dictations through Away From My Desk, however the use of a foot pedal is not compatible with our service. You will need to use the icons on the screen to play, rewind or fast forward.
