I Am Unable To Change Screen Resolution

Sometimes you may be able to change the screen resolution of your remote session, with only one option showing in the list.

To resolve this issue, you will need to contact either your IT Helpdesk and/or IT Manager and request for them to complete the following steps:

Step 1 - Windows Login Permissions

Ensure that your Windows login has permissions to change resolution on your work PC. Not all Windows logins have the same permissions and so it may just be set so that only admin users can change this setting.

Step 2 - Remote User Permissions

Ensure that the work PC is set up to allow changes to resolution through remote sessions. Sometimes the PC could be set up to prevent remote users from making changes to the work PC for security reasons.

Step 3 - Video Card Driver

Ensure that the Video Card Driver on the work PC is updated. A Video card driver is a software that allows the operating system and software application to use the PC’s graphics hardware. In order to get the best performance out of the hardware, it is recommended that the video card (GPU) drivers are updated.
